About Us
Our chapter of over 400 members
includes participants from the Northeast Florida
area, including St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra, and other locales in St. Johns County. We are a diverse group with varied interests and backgrounds who have
banded together with common views involving
bird watching, education, conservation and
protection of our fragile habitat. Since the beginning of our existence on October 27, 1959, we have worked together developing
goals which reflect the constantly evolving and
ever-changing needs of our community.
At first, we were a chapter of Florida Audubon Society, one of the first Audubon Societies in the nation. We still are today. However, in 1999 Florida Audubon Society became affiliated with the National Audubon Society. Click here to see a brief history of Florida Audubon Society and Audubon of Florida.
