St. Johns County Audubon promotes the protection, preservation, and restoration of the habitats of birds and other wildlife through stewardship, science-based advocacy, and education.
Our chapter has been around since 1979, and is made up of over 450 bird lovers. But don't let that intimidate you! We welcome new faces.
Join us as we appreciate our region's birds on our many local bird walks and field trips. If you're interested in helping the birds, join our members in citizen science projects, such as EagleWatch and the Christmas Bird Count. Come to one of our monthly programs, where you can learn more about Florida's birds. If you have the time, we'd love your help in protecting our nesting shorebirds. And we're always looking for organizers to coordinate these events - see our list of open volunteer positions for details.
New to birds? That's fine! Our bird walks are open to anyone, and we have loaner binoculars available. We'll happily help you learn how to identify the birds in our area.
St. Johns County Audubon is just one of more than 40 chapters under Audubon Florida, which itself is part of the National Audubon Society. While our work is focused in our local region, Audubon members are active across the state and country in protecting and appreciating birds and other wildlife.
